This is a big moment in ACD history! Today is the debut of the Engagement Overlay to the RIBA Plan of Work – a pioneering resource that promises to leave an indelible mark on our built environment.
This Overlay is poised to elevate engagement standards within the built environment sector, offering the potential for transformative processes in our residential, professional, and recreational spaces. It serves as a guiding light for built environment professionals, directing them toward unlocking invaluable local insights and nurturing accountability and transparency at every stage of the RIBA Work process.
A collaborative effort involving the Association of Collaborative Design, the Royal Institute of British Architects, and Sustrans, along with insights from 32 additional industry organisations and practitioners, the process of planning, writing, and delivering was a demonstration of how "walking the talk" was key to success. The Engagement Overlay champions the principles of early, proportionate, effective, and meaningful stakeholder engagement – essential elements for ensuring successful project outcomes that contribute to the creation of healthier and more adaptable neighbourhoods.
We invite you to explore and learn, absorb the insights, and, most importantly, share this invaluable resource. Reach out to the ACD Team for any questions, and future events related to this Overlay - watch this space...ACD is RIBA's CPD provider and we will be launching a series of training and workshop events later in the year.
